[[Around and around we go. ->locked johnny]]
(text-size:1.3)["Who is Zampano?"]
The definition of "Zampano" is the inflection of "Zampare".
"Zampare" is third-person plural present indicative of the word "Zampa", which is Italian for leg, or paw.
If we add -are to the end of this word "Zampa" becomes "Zampare", which is an Italian verb, to paw.
"Zampare" is the ambitransitive form of "Zampa" which is Italian for leg, or paw.
In Spanish, "Zampar" can mean "to scoff, or wolf down"- which is another way to phrase "eating or drinking rapidly". It can also mean to "tuck, or hide away."
Please note the original question was not what is Zampano, but who is Zampano. Taking this into consideration, and looking at previous answers provided, it can be surmised that the answer to "Who is Zampano?" was unable to be found. Testimony from Johnny Truant states that she acquired her most recent living quarters after Zampano's passing, yet no record of such a tenant was ever found in Ms. Truant's last known living space. It must be noted that Johnny Truant herself was not listed as an official tennant of this apartment either. ^^1^^
^^1^^(text-size:.8)[(font:"courier new")[i can remember that conversation clear as day. work was over and lude was getting ready to drag me who-knows-where for you-know-what. sun was low and my back ached more than normal. look hard enough, and you'll see that sometimes i walk with a slouch, but this wasn't the burden of bad posture that tore through my muscles. lude was always an observant guy, had to be, had to make sure he was the one who knew it all or else he'd end up in deep shit sooner than later. on these streets, you'll end up in deep shit either way. breathing's a part of living, but put together a definition of the word, and it sure wouldn't be only that. breathing wasn't enough for him.
it was only one sigh, but it was one sigh too many. "alright, gloomy." he started, sparks igniting against the wick of his lighter, smoke spilling out of his mouth like water. he could've asked me what it was, what it could have possibly been, but i saved him the trouble, something he traded for a longer drag of his cigarette. "missed one too many payments on my place." it wasn't worth being dishonest to the guy who knew everything. "i'm supposed to be walking home, but i've got to figure out where that's gonna be first."
the good thing about how shit cars are in the city is that you can find them trashed and booted in most places. can't take it anywhere, but at least it's good for storage. "no way, hoss. no buddy-o-mine's gonna waste away in a metal box." another drag, and he pulls out some sort of tech-pad, zooming in on a place he's circled on a map. i remember the color. he marked it in red. "better than nothing, but the bar is reaaal low with nothing." lude always talked with his hands. a puppeteer who could change the current of a conversation with a single twitch of his finger, keep your focus here or turn it over there. whenever i watch him talk, i think about whatever picture he must of been painting with those wild hands of his. for a laid-back guy, he was calculated to the finest point, and so whatever picture he made could sell on the market for a decent price at least. between the two of us, if we were in a crowd and they were asking for a show, lude would always gesture, give me the mic and the floor. i hadn't thought about whether or not it bothered me, and our nights ended the same either way. i spin the thread, and lude makes it dance. he told me about a recent vacancy, someone who lived in an old nowhere-type of apartment for a long while. the perfect place, he put it, nestled comfortably between somewhere no one would look, and somewhere no one would miss. "rent's free if you don't sign a lease." he added.
i was a squatter, but there weren't any eager buyers in my time there, and no one wanted to kick me out, considering who was breathing down their necks with either a bribe or a threat.
a couple days after getting my things organized, i asked about the person who lived here.]]^^0^^
^^0^^(font:"times new roman")[From my own personal recollection of this event, the man looked confused at Johnny's question. Why would such a simple question confuse him? Lude will answer this question for us as he answers Johnny: "It's been empty for as long as I can remember." Little information has been provided about Johnny Truant's residence, as she was never listed as a proper tennant, but the building had existed since before L. Corp fell. The vacancy Johnny occupied has been such for longer than ten years. When the building was a part of a wing, tenants cycled frequently, as it was a more desirable place to live. Without L. Corp, the complex wasn't abandoned, but it gathered dust as it was slowly becoming forgotten.]

###ABNORMALITY ESCAPE ENTITY:
Every Abnormality has its own unique behaviors with regards to escaping their containment rooms. Analyzing an abnormality's behavior patterns during such an event allow the company to provide its Manager with the most efficient strategies to minimize the abnormality's time spent outside of its containment room. The (text-colour:navy)[House] is the only abnormality recorded with this particular behavior. It has been defined as "static", meaning that The (text-colour:navy)[House] will never attempt to escape containment. Multiple theories have been presented in order to best understand this abnormality's behavior, and the most commonly accepted one is that The (text-colour:navy)[House] is not within the containment room, but has become the containment room itself. Therefore, it is unable to escape. When utilizing this company's abnormality viewing technology, it has been noted that The (text-colour:navy)[House] has no definable characteristics, and has no recorded appearances. Its only descriptors include "dark," "empty," "expansive,". Multiple attempts have been made to illuminate the inside of The (text-colour:navy)[House], and none have been successful. Unfortunately, most experiments surrounding The (text-colour:navy)[House] have been lost. We do not have reason or understanding as to why light cannot exist within its containment room. There is another theory surrounding The (text-colour:navy)[House], though this lacks evidence and is only based on speculation; this abnormality was created within its containment room, and The (text-colour:navy)[House] shaped its room into its own making. While not a true statement, it is not an impossible statement, that there was a point where The (text-colour:navy)[House] and its containment room were at once two separate things. Whether or not this theory is plausible has been deemed irrelevant, as there is no separation between these two objects now.
###MANAGEMENT:
The (text-colour:navy)[House] can be theorized to represent many things^^1^^. Due to the fact that this abnormality is unable to be defined or observed, a full list that encompassess all of the (text-colour:navy)[House]'s possibilities does not, and cannot, exist. It is a statement- a fact- that abnormalities are beings that exist within The City, yet their creation and whereabouts are mostly unknown. Evidence can only suggest ties to L. Corp, further evidence to confirm more than a simple relation has never been found. The process of abnormality creation is unknown^^2^^. When looking at The (text-colour:navy)[House], it has been described as "near impossible" to push down theories and questions about how such a thing came to be. A Proper conclusion can only be made through use of the Scientific Method ^^3^^, a method that involves observation, hypothesis, experimentation, and conclusion based on recorded evidence. While one can posit a hypothesis or a prediction, we cannot present such as fact without the proper foundation. The only fact that can be made on this abnormality without use of the Scientific Method is that The (text-colour:navy)[House] is not observable, and cannot be measured. The (text-colour:navy)[House] has no recorded behaviors, and has not been noted to move or stay still or live or breathe or think or act. There are no recorded sightings of The (text-colour:navy)[House], as its containment room is nothing but empty space. Yet it is also fact, that this empty space cannot be seen. There is not enough evidence to determine whether or not The (text-colour:navy)[House] was a name given to the abnormality, or if the abnormality insisted upon this name being so. It cannot be denied that it is The (text-colour:navy)[House]. As seen in previous footnote (1), while unsure as to why this abnormality is associated with definitions of a (text-colour:navy)[House], its correlation cannot be denied. Another theory arises- that The (text-colour:navy)[House] is only such in what this word defines, and those who decide to reside within its walls are what shape it into what it now is.
To further elaborate on this hypothesis, while a (text-colour:navy)[House] is- by definition- a strucure for one to dwell in, The (text-colour:navy)[House] is the combination of this definition, and the influence of those who dwell within. To elaborate even further, on the side of the metaphorical, the decorations within a person's (text-colour:navy)[House], are what lead a visitor to decide whether or not they feel at ease, or if they feel unsettled. Safety is not an inherent trait of a (text-colour:navy)[House], but its contents are what give it this quality.
Despite previous statements that there are no observable facts about The (text-colour:navy)[House], something about it compells the thinker to inquire and hypothesize without means of observation or experimentation. Can a (text-colour:navy)[House] hold a beating heart? To continue exploring in literals, as a place where one can reside. A quality of a living being is its heart and whether or not it beats or is still. In this way, it can be stated that a (text-colour:navy)[House] can contain a heart that beats within it. There are more reports provided for our company's managers on The (text-colour:navy)[House] and its effects on the individual based on exposure to the abnormality. Look further for more information, but start with another theory: one of the effects of The (text-colour:navy)[House] is its influence on the mind, prompting further question despite the inability to find answers. One cannot help but ask more questions, and one cannot help the need to seek answers, and one will know that it cannot record what cannot be seen or heard, and so one is left only to imagination. With no start and no shape, the mind is forced to imagine both everything at once and nothing at all, and one cannot stop asking, and one cannot stop thinking. That is one way The (text-colour:navy)[House] grafts itself onto you. While the abnormality is supposedly contained within L. Corp, there have been recorded instances of structures now defined as hallways^^4^^. Complete number of recorded instances is unknown, but due to the fact that there is more than one instance, and each event effects the viewer in similar ways leads the thinker to assume that the hallway and The (text-colour:navy)[House] are connected. The first recorded hallway sighting was after the downfall of Lob■■■■■ Corp.^^5^^ There has been no recorded evidence of a hallway before this event. It is a possibility that The (text-colour:navy)[House] has now been given freedom; the ability to further its reach.
While much of what is known about The (text-colour:navy)[House] has either been destroyed, or has never been discovered in the first place, there is enough to state its connection to L. Corp as fact. It has been previously defined in these reports as an abnormality, which means the statement that "The (text-colour:navy)[House] has been used to extract enkephalin^^6^^ to power The City" is also fact. Due to this fact, and other recorded theories and evidence on this page, it can be assumed that exposure to The (text-colour:navy)[House] and its effects on L. Corp employees has been recorded. When searching for writings to confirm this statement, the following reports have been found.

#Guidelines and Experimentation —The (text-colour:navy)[House] and documented effects of exposure

###Managerial Guidelines 1:
It has already been concluded, that The (text-colour:navy)[House] cannot be defined as either within the containment zone or as the containment zone itself. An abnormality is typically known as an observable being, something with a form that can be seen and so its behaviors and temperament can be recorded and analyzed. Due to the form of this abnormality, the only way to interact with The (text-colour:navy)[House], is to enter its space. Caution is heavily recommended when considering which employees will be exposed to the abnormality. In order for a manager to be at their most efficient, in informed decision to minimize both physical and mental damage to the smallest amount of employees is necessary. Various reports show that when an employee is sent to monitor The (text-colour:navy)[House], the containment room must be entered and it is highly likely that the selected employee will become lost within the abnormality, or will be deemed "MISSING IN ACTION" due to their sudden disappearance. If an employee disappearance is due to The (text-colour:navy)[House], they have been considered as "consumed" by the abnormality. If one is consumed, then every aspect of their existence^^7^^ has been taken by the dark.
###Managerial Guidelines 2:
Within the space of L. Corp, it has been observed that The (text-colour:navy)[House], while static in nature, is able to spread. There has been no observable movement, and its containment room remains unchanging and shadowed, but doorways previously not noted to exist began to appear in different locations in the corporation building. These were later defined as hallways, and were noted to be very dangerous if approached, regardless of their inability to physically attack passerby. If a hallway is located, please alert your department leader immediartely. Keep observation of a hallway a minimum. Once its location is safely recorded, it will be blocked off and properly labeled to ensure employee safety. Under no circumstances should you approach a known hallway location. Failure to follow this guideline can lead to obsessive thoughts about The (text-colour:navy)[House], impulsive searching for The (text-colour:navy)[House], loss of self to The (text-colour:navy)[House], becoming lost within The (text-colour:navy)[House], being consumed by The (text-colour:navy)[House], sudden death, or possible termination of employment.
###Managerial Guidelines 3:
It is required to note down interactions with the abnormality as well as an employee's physical and mental state in correlation to exposure. This is done in order to best analyze an abnormality in order to determine the most efficient way of enkephalin production and capture, as well as preparing for possible capture should an escape occur. Looking at data recordings, it has been confirmed that exposure to The (text-colour:navy)[House] can lead to various negative effects on the body and mind. This ailment has been defined as (text-colour:navy)[House] Sickness, as there is no known disease or illness that is defined by known symptoms due to exposure to the abnormality. In order to better understand (text-colour:navy)[House] Sickness and its symptoms, and how to best found cases in empoyees, multiple volunteers were selected in order to note down the correlation between length of abnormality exposure and severity of (text-colour:navy)[House] Sickness.
Once more, we are faced with a theoretical hypothesis with no basis other than metaphorical assumptions. (text-colour:navy)[House] Sickness is an ailment caused by exposure to the abnormality, while there is a similarly-known ailment caused by lack of exposure to what one would define as their (text-colour:navy)[House]. While they are opposite causes- either through a lack of exposure or an abundance of it- they have similar names and similar effects on the mind and body. Please note that a misdiagnosis of (text-colour:navy)[House] Sickness is likely, as we are still working to better define and understand its cause and effect. A manager must make only well-informed decisions to avoid unnecessary use of company resources. The misidentification of (text-colour:navy)[House] Sickness as homesickness has been taken into account when generating a manager's daily production report.

##Recorded behaviors in volunteer exposure

=|=
(text-size:1)[First employee:

Length of exposure: Minimum // approximately 15 to 30 minutes.]

Each volunteer's initial personality was recorded and taken into account as possible influences on the severity of symptoms. This employee has been previously noted as timid, their initial hesitance was not exclusive to this experiment, nor The (text-colour:navy)[House]. Volunteers were monitored with written observation of behavior as well as statistical analysis of mental stability. "Stability" in this experiment is consistency. Our first volunteer's levels of fear and hesitance were consistent for their observed personality and previous behavior patterns. Readings began with an initial and anticipated decline, fear worsening as the volunteer could no longer hesitate, and must face that which they did not want to. Once initial contact with the abnormality began, mental stability was no longer a consistency, but a resounding calm. It was decided that, despite the positive effects on the volunteer's mental state, this was deemed as a possible negative reaction once exposed to the abnormality. Once a volunteer has entered The (text-colour:navy)[House], data can only be observed and recorded through statistics. Physical reaction and behavior was unable to be documented at this point. At first, an instantaneous calm, all levels and feelings of fear and apprehension levelled into nonexistence. The next, a spike. As this was a severe and erratic response, this was also concluded to be a negative reaction due to exposure to the abnormality. All readings on the volunteer's mental state were in a decline. Farther than the average resting rate of this volunteer, and farther than what our other employees were able to read or comprehend. Due to the fact that we were unable to observe what caused such a reaction, this data could not be passed off as machine error, nor taken as concrete evidence. Once the threshold of minimum exposure has been reached, the volunteer was retrieved, and vitals and reassessment was once more recorded. Upon retrieval, it was noted that the volunteer struggled against the rescue team, stating that they were told they needed to return. Post-exposure diagnostics were ran, and the volunteer was considered stable. While the recorded behaviors within the abnormality were archived, this volunteer's before and after were identical; as if they had never been a part of the experiment in the first place.
Weeks after this first volunteer's documented exposure, it was noted that they reached out numerous times to their line manager. In weekly reports, they were stated to "struggle with taking no for an answer," as the line manager insisted that the experiment would only be done once.
After the volunteer's request for further exposure was denied, we no longer recieved weekly reports on them. The line manager was questioned, as it was necessary to confirm whether or not this was due to this manager's insubordinance. The line manager stated that they haven't seen the volunteer in some time. We searched through security camera footage in order to locate the volunteer, and their last known location was The (text-colour:navy)[House]'s containment room. This volunteer has now been labelled as "MISSING IN ACTION."
=|=
(text-size:1)[Second employee:

Exposure time: 2 hours]

The first and second volunteer experienced almost identical effects upon exposure to the abnormality as well as once the second volunteer entered its containment room. This volunteer lacked a timid personality, and before the experiment began, there were no signs of fear or hesitance with this second volunteer. It can be concluded that another effect of The (text-colour:navy)[House], is that it is able to instill feelings of nervousness and fear upon those who are exposed to it. Even if such a change is not realized by the participant, they cannot help the instilled feeling of unease The (text-colour:navy)[House] brings, nor the way it calls out to bring someone back to it. We wonder how the abnormality is able to have full control on those who are exposed to it, and theorize that it has a degree of influence on someone that is outside of The (text-colour:navy)[House], but once someone is within The (text-colour:navy)[House], they have become a part of it. The (text-colour:navy)[House], simply put, is in full and complete control of itself. Prolongued exposure is the slow process of becoming one with the abnormality. This volunteer is noted to have a curious personality type, and so initial feelings before the experiment began were described as eagerness. The transition from eager curiosity to unstable fear- the immediate effect during initial exposure- is instantaneous; as if one feeling was swapped for another. After this volunteer stablilized once more, their natural curiosity began to take root once more, and they attempted to explore the confines of The (text-colour:navy)[House]. It has already been proven fact, that The (text-colour:navy)[House] is not observable, therefore any attempts to "seek" and "find" while inside of this abnormality will not give results.
While a thing may have existed outside of the abnormality, once it has entered The (text-colour:navy)[House], it has become a part of it, and no longer something separate from it. With complete control over itself, it is only a matter of time before whatever theoretical "thing" melts into the abnormality's unidentifiable form.
A pattern has been observed. Much like the first, the second volunteer's post exposure diagnostics were stable, the same feeling, that it was as if they had never entered The (text-colour:navy)[House] at all. Another pattern has been observed as well, as the second volunteer had requested much of the same as the first- longing to enter The (text-colour:navy)[House] once more, only they insist that there is something to be found within its walls. Despite our best efforts to repeat fact and provide information found from earlier studies and experiments, this volunteer insisted.
To further the observable pattern, the last recorded sighting of the second volunteer was near-identical to the first's. This volunteer has now been labelled as "MISSING IN ACTION."
=|=
(text-size:1)[Third employee:

Exposure time; 3 weeks]

While we have been able to obtain more data than once previously thought, curiosity has found its roots in us all. It has been proven fact, that The (text-colour:navy)[House] has a negative effect on those who are exposed to it, and the length of said exposure will worsen these effects, the pull of The (text-colour:navy)[House] stronger the more time you spend surrounded by it. Once within The (text-colour:navy)[House], an individual becomes a part of it. If The (text-colour:navy)[House] is simply observed, it will become a part of the individual. It is in the abnormality's nature to consume, and so it will only be a matter of time before someone is pulled back into the abnormality to become a part of it as well. There was a question posed, how far could someone go before they are lost completely? Lost in this experiment defined as "unable to be retrieved." A third volunteer has been obtained. As information regarding how the abnormality exposure affects the mind is no longer necessary, data on the volunteer's personality was not recorded or kept.
The longest amount of time spent within The (text-colour:navy)[House] has now been recorded at 3 weeks. See below, the effects of The (text-colour:navy)[House] on the third volunteer for this experiment:
* Physical symptoms: internal body temperature decrease, lacerations and/or wounds appearing on different parts of the volunteer's body, loss of sensation due to hypothermia
* Whether or not the injuries were self-inflicted or inflicted upon the volunteer is unclear. It can be assumed that they are self-inflicted, however due to the depth/location/size of each wound, it would have been impossible unless the volunteer had an additional weapon on their person. No such weapon was provided.
* Behavioral symptoms: paranoia, periodic amnesia, obsession, the devlopment of new phobias, delusions, hallucinations
* This volunteer was in recovery for approximately 3 months before they were deemed fit to go back to work. Physical damage to the body took one of these months, the remaining were used to focus on social reintroduction.
* During initial recovery from The (text-colour:navy)[House]. this volunteer attempted to physically fight the recovery team despite their weakened state, insistent upon returning back to the abnormality. It has been discovered that the cause was partially due to previously recorded findings, as well as a new sensitivity to light. When taking the volunteer to the recovery suite, the lights had to be dimmed.
* (text-color:"red")[~~"it was looking for me. it felt like it was a lonely thing. was that how you felt? lonely? maybe i can understand your pain, now i know how it feels to be taken from yourself, made into less of what you were always meant to be. go on, venture forth into the endless maze of wonders, and when you find your way to its exit, may you be revered as the hero you are. could this be what you were told? do you believe what they said? is there really a way to escape? if only for a moment, if only for a single point in time, my blood will paint the unchanging darkness of these walls. let it remind you that you were not alone, not always and not forever.~~]
* As soon as this volunteer returned to work, they had further confirmed previous behavior patterns witnessed in the other volunteers. This volunteer has now been labelled "MISSING IN ACTION."

###Advice:
For maximum efficiency as our company's manager, it is advised to avoid all possible exposure to this abnormality. It has been noted that (text-colour:navy)[House] Sickness can occur in as little as a second of exposure. If interaction with the abnormality is necessary, please utilize your employees first. Failure to listen to and act upon this advice will lead to the immediate replacement of your position. A manager is always needed within the company, and should a manager experience (text-colour:navy)[House] Sickness, there is a high probability that the manager will be consumed. In order to reduce this risk to a comfortable impossibility, you will no longer be fit to be considered a company manager should exposure to The (text-colour:navy)[House] be noted. Please remember, it will intice you to look, to bask in its shadows and tempt you with the illusion of safety. It will ask, it will beg, and it will do whatever it can to lure you within its walls. There will never be an instance where it is advised to give into such temptation. ^^8^^

^^3^^The scientific method is the process by which science is carried out. It is a method of inquiry that can build on previous knowledge, and unify understanding of its studied topics over time. This method consists of an ordered process of "Observation/question" -> "Research topic area" -> "Hypothesis" -> "Test with experiment" -> "Analyze data" -> "Report Conclusions." In essence, this method of inquiry requires the characterization of its topic through observations and definitions in order to create hypothetical extensions of these characteristics, or explainations for observed behaviors, based on these a prediction must be made with the positied hypothesis, with experimentation to attempt to create the theorized behavior. In order to state something as "fact" there must be evidence provided to confirm credibility.
^^4^^ Hallways, in reference to The House, are various corridors that can spawn up to 100 miles from the "center" of the abnormality. They can spawn on any surface whether or not they are indoors or outdoors, so long as the wall itself has sufficient space for an average-sized door. Once a new Hallway is created, that is considered a piece of The House, and therefore another Hallway can spawn 100 miles from that. It is unknown just how far The House has spread its wings, and it is unknown just how many people have found themselves lost to The House's sickness.

Anything taken by The (text-colour:navy)[House] still exists in memory, and is now defined as something that once was. (align:"==><==")[A BRIEF SUMMARY ON THE NAVIDSON FAMILY]
###WILL NAVIDSON —
(text-size:.8)[William Navidson, affectionately referred to as "Navy" by close family and friends, was a former L. Corp employee before the events of the Smoke War. After old L. Corp was taken over, Will had spent most of his time attempting to uncover the secrets of both old L. Corp and the new L. Corp that took its place. In an attempt to keep their secrets hidden, Will was hired as a reporter for the new L. Corp, tasked with reporting on the good of the Corporation, as well as L. Corp's allies. Records indicate that Will mysteriously disappeared before he was able to finish his video documentary on the workings of L. Corp and a day in the life as one of its employees. When asked about his whereabouts or how he disappeared, L. Corp had refused to answer or elaborate. L. Corp has now fallen, and therefore cannot be asked. ]
###TOM NAVIDSON —
(text-size:.8)[Thomas Navidson, Will's twin brother. Not much was found on Tom, nor his career or notable achievments. Tom was last recorded as unemployed by a Wing, yet would make money as a handyman or an engineer for people who needed it. As rules for business are strict within the Wings, Tom's clients were primarily in the backstreets. It was recorded that once, Tom had said the following with regards to making money in the backstreets:
"It's not easy, yeah? No one really thought it was, hah! But you have to make money somehow, and I might as well put myself to use if I'm gonna try. Something breaks, and I'll do my damnest to fix it. The cost isn't too high, so I got a lot of inquiries, but I also got a lot of people who told me to step off and find somewhere else to beg. It's not easy, it's not easy..."
Around the time Will Navidson disappeared, Tom had also vanished. Much like his brother, there is no obtainable record on the whereabouts of Tom in the moments of his disappearance.]
###KAREN GREEN —
(text-size:.8)[Karen Green is Will Navidson's wife. She kept her last name as she has been a well-known face throughout the City as a model and an actress. When asked further about if there were any other reasons behind refusing to change her last name, Mrs. Green refused to elaborate. Despite her notoriety, the details of Mrs. Green's personal life are mostly unknown. Considering the fact that both her and her husband hold status in The City, this is a very strange phenomena. ]

(text-size:.8)[(font:"arial")[A: It's an honor, really! Thank you for being on our show, Mrs. Green. How's it feel to add the -us at the end?
K: `[Laughter]` Honestly, doesn't feel any different to what I'm used to, only people keep bringing it up. Our wedding was a small one. It's hard to get Navy alone these days!
A: Really? One would assume that it's easy for you, at least.
K: He gets pulled away a lot. Work's always calling for him, you know? Sometimes I ask, but sometimes I get "not now, honey." Well...
A: `[Silence]`
K: More often than sometimes. He's got this look about him, Navy does. It looks like he's trying to apologize, but it doesn't quite come out... then he turns away. "It's work again. I'll be back later." `[More laughter]` We bought a (text-colour:navy)[house] recently.
A: Oh, really?
K: Yeah. We both thought it would be a good way to try and keep space between us and... you know, work. We lucked out on it, really- Navy works for the wing, and I'm... well, I'm here!
A: `[Laughter]` You are! And what a pleasure it's been, really. I'm invited to the (text-colour:navy)[house]warming, right? Don't give away too many details!
K: I'm sure Navy won't mind.
A: Got any big movie plans coming up? There's been a lot of talk about how we're all waiting for you to make an appearance on the big screen again.
K: Well...
K: Actually, with the (text-colour:navy)[house] and all, I was considering... Ahh, I wanted to make this announcement later! Consider it a sneek-peek for your listeners, okay?
A: Do tell!
K: Early retirement, or a hiatus. I've got a family now, and I want to focus on that.
A: A one-way ticket to heartbreak, but I- and your fans- understand. Hopefully you won't be pulled away from us for too long.
K: `[Laughter, nervous]` Hopefully. Thanks again, and maybe I'll see you at the (text-colour:navy)[house] once we set up that party.
A: Maybe! That's all the time we have for now. Tune-in next week for an exclusive interview with a T. Corp Collector! "Time and all the ways you don't know you're wasting it." Thank you for listening, and come again next time!]](enchant: ?page, (font:"times new roman"))

(align:"=><=")+(text-size:1)[Pen & Ink is a Syndicate Office ^^1^^ located in the backstreets of Old L. Corp. ]
(text-size:.8)[TIERS: ]
(align:"<==")+(box:"=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX=========")[There are many different 'tiers' of employment at Pen & Ink. The number one is the manager of course, the one who runs the shop and makes sure that everything is running. Most tiers are at equal points on the ladder, but it must be noted that the Manager is considered at the "top", and the Apprentice is considered at the "bottom". ]
(align:"<==")+(box:"=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX=========")[Manager - The one in charge. Records do not indicate a history of managers, meaning the most current manager has been the only one. In the case of this syndicate's tiers of employment, the Manager is synonymous with the Owner. The manager both manages and owns the syndicate and has the final absolute say on how the business will operate ^^2^^
Artist - Self explanitory. These Artists of the office were the ones that managed the actual artistry of the augmented tattoos, as well as piercing augments. The more experienced an Artist, the harder it is to book with them, and the more expensive it becomes. Likely covered in tattoos and piercings themselves, they aren't typically the first responders when a client tries to leave without paying their bill, but are more than capable of doing cleanup.
Receptionist - These employees are the managers of information and client communications. A Collector focuses more on bringing owed debts back to the office, while the Receptionist is in charge of current clients and arranging their appointments and connections, as well as recording which debts have been repaid and which need to be collected. A Receptionist is also a keen organizer of the offices information and notes on clients and organizations. Pen & Ink not only accepts individual clients, but Syndicates and other organizations as well. Records of these organizations and their relationships with other wings and offices is necessary in order for this office to maintain its neutral control of the immediate area.
Collector - A Collector of many things, money, bodies, information- though Receptionists are more known for the information collecting and client communications. A Collector needs to know the clients well, and needs to know which client owes the office for services rendered. Tattoos and piercings don't come without a cost, and some believe they can get away with a dine and dash of sorts, leaving the office once the service is performed. These employees are keen combatants, and are allowed one piercing and three tattoos as they are the ones most likely to fight augmented cilentelle.
Apprentice - Only one known apprentice has been recorded to work at this Syndicate Office. This means that only one person has ever been noted to be so unqualified for the work, they were unable to get an official job listing. They make sure the shop doesn't look like shit, and try their best to do the bare minimum, even if that. ^^3^^]

(align:"<==")+(box:"=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX=========")[Known just as, this is what Pen & Ink office prides themselves on. They specialize in tattoos and piercings. Tattoos are a visual indicator that the wearer has been enhanced in some way, the ink itself strengthening the body in some way or another. Piercings are also capable of this, but as the ink is injected directly into the skin and bloodstream, they are a more effective form of augmentation, and therefore more expensive. Some clients have chosen to go for "liquid mercury" piercings, as the metal itself is malleable, and can be formed into any weapon of choice. It doesn't come without cost- both in life and in money. Those who decide this enhancement typically have other means of self-preservation to help stave off the mercury poisoning.^^4^^]
(text-size: .65)[ ^^1^^ As referenced in "Between you, me, and the Backstreets: A guide to survival of the fittest when a Nest is out of the question", Syndicates are organizations that are typically found doing their work in the backstreets. While fixers protect the nests and are commonly hired by corporations, the Syndicates are groups that can be hired for protection in the backstreets if one is not able to secure housing within a nest. Please note that protection and contracts with Syndicates and living in the backstreets heavily implies violence in all aspects.
^^2^^(font:"courier new")[truth be told, the boss of that place was an asshole. Everyone knew it, but no one cared to bring it up to the guy. would you, if your boss had to go toe-to-toe with The Middle, the Kurokomos, and whoever the hell was insane enough to spend their life savings on some enhancing tattoos? he was inked on every visible part of his body, and some other parts you'd rather not look at, and had a look meaner than most, that would leave you wondering about the other guy and what they might've looked like after pissing him off. don't really know why he kept me around, but the work was decent when I wasn't being dragged across a bed of nails whenever shit hit the fan. didn't happen as much as you'd think, but it happened enough times, so whenever i walked into the shop the boss would look at me and sigh. shoulders slumped as he grumbled out his pissed off morning greeting: "Look who decided to show up." been late more times than i could count, so he probably was relieved that i managed to get my ass out of bed.]
^^3^^ The editors were able to obtain a testimony on the work ethic on the one recorded Apprentice of the office, name presented as JOHNNY TRUANT. Testimony begins: "What a piece of work that one was. Late more times than she was on time, and could barely hold a tattoo gun to save her life, couldn't help but pity her for that one honestly- it was a real bad case of the shakes. Paired with this bug-eyed look she'd give every once in a while, and I'd think every now and again that whatever trouble followed her to my office wasn't worth the headache. This kind of work wasn't without plenty of trouble in itself, but she's lucky that whatever was chasing her never knocked on my front door. She was good for organizing at least. Making sure everything was in the place it was supposed to be. I try not to think about her shakes and how they broke an entire bottle of ink, because it was only once, but damn if it didn't piss me off. Honestly, get her in a mood and nothing was where it was supposed to be, so even an "at least" came with a catch. Easy to set off, match to a room of oxygen. Ink's expensive. It has to be, and it's how we make money. It's not "just a bottle", when it comes to that stuff. Why keep her then? What a good fucking question. I asked myself that every day, believe you me! There was something in that look in her eyes, I guess. Our Collectors do good work, but sometimes when it gets rough, I could send Johnny in with them, and I knew the job would get done. Don't send her out enough for it to be worth a promotion, and she should be able to at least pierce something to be more than just an apprentice. One day she just up and left, said something about an offer she couldn't refuse. Didn't really care to see her off proper, and told her she better do a damn good job if she wants to be worth a damn wherever she's running off to. She told me that if I talked to her like that again she'd make sure it'd be the last thing I said. Couldn't help but laugh, because I'd like to see her try.]
^^4^^(font:"courier new")[never was able to give someone a tattoo. i know what they're good for and why you'd want one, but there's something about that little detail- the fact that it's still art. it's stuck on your body forever, it's got a use in keeping you safe and making you strong, but it's settled between the layers of skin in a way only you get to decide. it was interesting to me, and they were hiring. well- anyone's hiring when you know a guy who could turn the whole city against you if you piss him off enough. the downside is that when you get in on a threat, you have to start at the bottom and work your way up. silver lining to that shit-show was that it was probably a good thing that i wasn't an artist right away. working around the stuff was what gave me some second guesses. it's art, but was this art worth it? and that's just the tattoos. we've got all sorts of piercings, all sorts of metals and forms, this-and-that, if something rough and shiny is more your style. or if you want to be one of the few bold and stupid enough to try, get something malleable so you'll always have exactly what you need when you need it. sign your name on that bad boy thinking "how bad could it be?" mercury is no joke. i've seen a few rejected piercings, but there was one that was rejected the second it was done, maybe even sooner, like their skin knew what was going to happen next, and did everything in its power to stop it from sticking. nasty work, and quick too. have you ever tasted blood in your mouth? the sickly iron-taste is something you'll never forget once it sets against your tastebuds for the first time. well, hey- never had mercury poisoning before, but word of mouth states that it's a little tinny before the end. not much of a difference between iron and blood, when your blood's got iron in it, or something like that. cough enough, vomit enough, bleed out your mouth through your gums and teeth enough, and you don't walk out of that office. never tattooed anyone, never pierced anyone, don't know if i ever will. mine aren't anything special. apprentices don't get employee discounts, and they don't stuff good for anything either.](enchant: ?page, (font:"courier new")+(text-size:.8)) (text-size:.65)[ask me why i decided to write everything down, and i don't think i would be able to give it to you straight. i've been told time and time again that i'm too sentimental for my own good- something about being attached to whatever sad sack of shit was tossed aside by someone else to spend the rest of it's inanimate life waterlogged and covered in dirt and decay. you find something and you take it in, take care of it, read between the lines, and suddenly you've made yourself a whole new beast of a burden.
the boss can do this thing- something to do with cards, and tapping into different versions of you across an infinite possibilities. reaching out to any and every cause and effect that they can find. didn't expect to get myself wrapped up in different timelines and dimensions and what-not, but now there are people around that don't have the pleasure of knowing just what "the city" is. or anything else i'm writing about, for that matter. may as well give you a key to make any of it make any sort of sense. cheers to you, the one who happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. i hope you like your gift. ]

The name (text-colour:navy)[House] Sickness is unofficial, yet it is unable to be called anything else, and research surrounding this abnormality is either scarce or forcebly hidden. Previous experimentation logs and reports on the after effects of prolongued exposure to the (text-colour:navy)[House] indicate that the pull towards its hallways is its attempt to lure in the unsuspecting.
Symptoms vary in degree, with a general trend of worsening with further exposure to the abnormality. The longer you spend in proximity, the harder it is for the (text-colour:navy)[House] to leave your mind. Even one glance is enough^^1^^; it makes itself something you aren't able to forget, preying on the mind's endless thirst for knowledge and understanding.
Proximity is a vague thing. The only experiment with tangible recorded evidence focused on the length of exposure as well as identifying as many symptoms as possible, as well as their degrees of severity. A theory to what can be determined as "within proximity of the (text-colour:navy)[House]", is eyeshot. So long as you are able to view its hallways, or the entrance, then it has already gotten its claws in you. While it is true that symptoms will worsen the longer one is in contact with the abnormality, it is common for some to be more heavily affected than others, despite what little exposure they have.

If at all possible, avoid the (text-colour:navy)[House] if you are a person that can be described as:
* Weak-Willed
* Curious
* Easily Influenced
* Sensitive
* Lonely
* A Knowledge Seeker
* Reckless
* Little to No Ambition
* Off the Radar
* Inspectors and Investigators
* Have you found what you're looking for?
* Maybe you will find it in here.
* How its dark entryway seems to pull you closer.
* Before you realize it, you walked towards it.
* Before you can stop, it welcomes you in.
* Before you can leave, its exit has become lost to you.
* Have you found it?
* It waits for you at the center of the (text-colour:navy)[House].
* You are the framework and our foundation, as a body needs its skeleton, a skeleton needs its muscle and organs, and a human needs its heart and soul.
* I will share my soul with you, and we can finally be a family again.
---
Symptoms of prolongued (text-colour:navy)[House] exposure and its subsequent Sickness are included but not limited to, listed in order from minor to severe:
* A longing to return
* Invasive thoughts about the (text-colour:navy)[House]
* Dreams about the (text-colour:navy)[House]
* Minor Hallucinations
* Who are the Navidsons?
* Paranoia
* Curiosity
* Obsession
* Amnesia
* Decrease in Body Temperature
* Violent Outbursts
* A Desire to Come Home, No Matter the Cost
* Dependency on the (text-colour:navy)[House]
* It will eat away at you
* Nothing can exist within the (text-colour:navy)[House]
* Unable to leave, there will be no separation between the self and the (text-colour:navy)[House] it resides in.

While most recorded evidence of the (text-colour:navy)[House] and its experiments were either lost or destroyed, some records indicate that exposure can lead to multiple kinds of hallucinations. There was a recorded phenomena of a name that all who were exposed to the (text-colour:navy)[House] would remember if they experienced hallucination-like symptoms. While the first name would sometimes be different, the last name "Navidson" seemed to be a constant when asking test subjects who they heard and if a name was attached to the voice.
Not much is known about [[The Navidsons]] besides information already captured. The link between the Navidsons and the (text-colour:navy)[House] is still unclear.^^2^^
(text-size:.65)+(font:"courier new")[ [^^1^^it went on forever. one day i saw it, no door- open or closed- no light, my boss didn't mention anything about a rennovation or a new room in the building, and i've walked down that hallway more times than i can remember. as if i was working at that damn place for years. maybe not years, but you go down a hallway more than enough times in a day, and you can never forget how it's mapped out. it felt like there was a draft, or maybe a gentle push to look a little closer. can't remember what snapped me out of it, but by the time i needed to go back down that hallway to fetch another something-or-other, that hallway was nowhere to be seen. must've been my imagination, my weak attempt at making sense of what i saw and what i would never be able to forget.]]
(text-size:.65)+(font:"times new roman")[ [^^2^^All that can be deduced from what evidence we have is that Johnny Truant was unable to find any further information on the Navidsons, therefore this is all that could be documented about them. L. Corp is well-known for its secrets, and it has been stated before that William had previously attempted to uncover those secrets with very little success. There is no evidence to back up an assumption that he continued to try and report on L. Corp's mysteries after being employed by them. During his employment, William's works about the corporation all held it in a favorable light, up until his disappearance. William Navidson was never listed as a missing person, nor did anyone ask about where he went. There is no record of Karen asking for her husband, nor Tom searching for his brother. The only thing we have is the final point: none of them have ever been found.]]
